Dupri Becomes New Urban Music President

Island Def Jam Music Group has added a new Urban Music division and also announced that Jermaine Dupri will be the president of that new division.

The famous rapper and producer has been responsible for many great hits over the years and brings a lot of knowledge, creativity and experience with him to this exciting new position.

Throughout his outstanding career, Dupri has helped write and produce popular beats for many talented singers and music artists such as Usher, Kris Kros and Mariah Carey just to name a few.

Dupri also has his own label based in Atlanta called So So Def.

The gifted producer and song writer had the following to say about the transition:

I'm so excited to be reunited with L.A. Reid because most of my biggest hits were when he and I worked together. And then to be working side by side with Steve Bartels. I don't think there's a better team because he's by far the best in the game. I can't wait for us to start stuntin' on y'all.

Jermain Dupri has been making hits since 1992 at the early age of 19 when he first brought "Jump" by Kriss Kross to the top of the charts.
