Jordin Sparks Voted As 2007 American IdolThursday, May 24, 2007 Jordin Sparks, a 17-year-old female artist from Arizona, has been selected and crowned as this years 'American Idol'.
Sparks claims she has lived for this moment for a very long time and that she actually grew up watching American Idol from the age of 12. The talented teenager has been granted a recording contract as part of her 'Idol' prize. American Idol held a songwriting contest online and the viewers picked "This Is My Now" as the winner which was performed by Jordin Sparks after she had won her award. When Sparks won she faced the crowd and said: Thank you so much for everything. Mom, Dad, I love you. Nana, Papa, P.J., thank you guys.Many great music artists made an appearance for the finale including Smokey Robinson, Tony Bennett, and Bette Midler. Gwen Stefani made an appearance via satellite while in Massachusetts and performed her new hit single "4 in the Morning" for the crowd. Kelly Clarkson, the first season winner performed "Never Again" which is her latest single. Jordin Sparks received a whopping total of 74 million votes which ultimately lead her to victory.
