Journey Hit Chosen for Sopranos FinaleTuesday, June 12, 2007 Popular classic rock band Journey had one of their greatest hits "Don't Stop Believin'" chosen for the final episode of the Sopranos. Needless to say, the songwriters who wrote the track were exctatic about the idea.
The song was written by Jonathan Cain, Steve Perry and Neal Schon and was originally released back in 1981. At the end of the last episode of the Sopranos, Tony Soprano selects the song from a jukebox while at a New Jersey restaurant with his family. There are a lot of mixed reviews of exactly how the show ended, some were confused, some were quite disappointed while other people thought it was great. Jonathan Cain had this comment about how the HBO series ended: It was better than anything I would have ever hoped forThe hit song reached #9 on the charts back in 1981 and has continued to grow in popularity since.
