50 Cent Betting Solo Career On New AlbumFriday, August 10, 2007 In a recent interview with SOHH.com 50 Cent states he will quit his successful solo career if Kanye West sells more albums than he does. The famous rappers both have new albums due to be released on Sept 11. 50 Cent is confident that his upcoming album "Curtis" will outsell Kanye's album "Graduation".
If Kanye West does sell more albums, 50 Cent claims he will still write lyrics with other artists but will no longer release solo albums. In 2005 "The Massacre", which was 50 Cent's last solo album, sold over 1.14 million copies in the first week alone, making it the best selling CD in '05. Kanye West's "Late Registration" album released the same year sold just over 860,000 copies during it's first week of release. 50 Cent and Kanye West recently worked on some material in the studio together but 50 Cent claims the music they worked on will not be found on his "Curtis" album.
