Jennifer Lopez Wins Lawsuit Againts First HusbandWednesday, September 05, 2007 Actress and singer Jennifer Lopez was awarded $545,000 in a lawsuit against her first husband Ojani Noa. Noa requested 5 million dollars from Lopez in return for not publishing a tell-all book.
Michael C. Solner, a Superior Court Judge in Los Angeles, also barred Noa from publishing any negative details about Lopez. In addition, Noa was ordered to hand over all material related to the book to either Lopez or her lawyer. Lopez accused Noa in April 2006 of violating a settlement which restricted him from revealing information about the former couples private life. It was confirmed that Noa's plans to release the book was a breach-of-contract. A total of $200,000 of the $545,000 awarded to J-Lo will go towards damages and the rest is for legal fees. Lopez and Noa wed back in February 1997. The marriage lasted only 11 months. Powered by dBLOGGER |
