Coldplay Being Sued Over 2008 Hit SongFriday, December 05, 2008 Coldplay is being sued by guitarist Joe Satriani for their popular hit song "Viva La Vida". The lawsuit for copyright infringement was filed in Los Angeles by Joe Satriani on Thursday. According to Satriani, Coldplay used several portions of his song "If I Could Fly" from 2004. Coldplay's new hit has been used in TV commercials and was also nominated for a grammy earlier this week. This Friday no calls were returned for comments by Capitol Records, the bands label. Satriani either wants the band to discontue using the song or have a federal judge have an accountant ordered to investigate just how much money may be owed to him. Powered by dBLOGGER |
