DJ AM Memorial Fashioned After 12 Step MeetingFriday, September 04, 2009 A private memorial service was held today at the Hollywood Palladium for DJ AM, who's real name is Adam Goldstein. Those in attendence participated in a process for the 12-steps which is commonly used by addicts recovering from drugs and alcohol and also by programs like Alcoholics Anonymous, which made the memorial quite unique. Due to the nature of the gathering, some guests requested anonymity.
Several celebrities were seen at the service which included John Mayer, Robert Downey Jr. and Lindsay Lohan to name a few. It was a sad day last Friday when Adam Goldstein was found dead in New York. He was only 36 years old. According to police OxyContin, which is a very strong painkiller, was found in Adam's throat and stomach. Before his tragic death Goldstein was working with MTV to release a reality show called "Gone Too Far" which was initially scheduled to air on October 5. The show was geared towards helping people who are dealing with addiction to get sober. A total of 8 episodes were filmed. At this point due to circumstances MTV has not decided whether or not they will go ahead with airing the show. Powered by dBLOGGER |
